Where to Find Northern Inuit Dogs for Sale

Northern Inuit Dogs for Sale

In an attempt to make the domestic dog appear more like a wolf, Northern Inuit dogs were created. This is an unrecognized dog breed developed during the 1980s by mixing Siberian Huskies, Inuit dogs, and German Shepherds.

The breed is both highly intelligent and quick-witted, so it is not good for inexperienced dog owners; however, they are completely non-aggressive dogs and make the perfect pet for the right home.

The Northern Inuit are both loyal and protective. So, you may be asking yourself, where can I find a Northern Inuit Dog for sale? If you think the Northern Inuit is the perfect breed for you, there are many breeders you can look into down below.

How Much Does a Northern Inuit Dog Cost?

This breed can be quite hard to find, especially in the United States. Most often, you will find a breeder of this breed in European countries. Unfortunately, not all international breeders will ship their puppies internationally, so keep that in mind. This can also affect the price extremely.

You can expect to pay around $800 to even over $1,000 for one of these puppies. While this will vary from breeder to breeder based on the puppy’s first shots, gender, and if the puppy is microchipped.

Northern Inuit Female Dogs can have anywhere from five to twelve puppies in one litter. They typically only have one litter every year or every two years.

How Big Do Northern Inuit Dogs Get?

Yes, the Northern Inuit is a medium to large dog breed. Males are larger than females and weigh more, ranging from 79 to 110 pounds. Females are just slightly smaller weighing 55 to 85 pounds. You will definitely want to be prepared for the type of care that large dog breeds need.

Are Northern Inuit Dogs Affectionate?

The appearance of this dog breed can give off the wrong impression that it might have the personality traits of a wolf. In all actuality, this can be a very friendly and loyal dog breed, just like any other dog. They can make wonderful family companions and show affection just like other dog breeds.

Mountain Myst Northern Inuits

It can be very hard to find a Northern Inuit dog breeder in the United States, and this breeder is one of the three that there are here. Many breeders who breed this dog are in different countries.

They have grown their pack over the years and have puppies at least once a year. Their puppies are extremely popular due to their great reputation. Unfortunately, you will most likely have to get on a waiting list a couple of years out.

This breeder requests that you pick up your puppy in person, whether you fly out there or drive to the location where the breeder is. Expect to spend a few hours there when picking up your puppy. If you have any questions about this breed, you can send them over by email to the breeder.

They have great communication skills and will email you back quite quickly. You can get started and fill out a puppy application here: https://www.mountainmystnortherninuits.com/

Traildog Northern Inuits

Another popular Northern Inuit breeder is the Traildog Northern Inuits. They specialize in breeding and preserving the breed. The breeders love to get outside on trails for bike rides and hikes. They love to bring their dogs with them.

They raise all of their dogs in a very loving and caring environment. Their main focus when breeding is to make sure their dogs, as well as the puppies, are completely healthy. That is the number one priority.

They post a lot of pictures of the dogs and puppies. If you are interested in a puppy, you will have to get on a waiting list for their next litter. You can contact this breeder here at: https://www.highlandtraildogs.com/

What Should I know before adopting a Northern Inuit Dog?

Before choosing a Northern Inuit puppy, you should know that if you live in the United States, it will cost you some money.

The truth is that not only is the Northern Inuit Dog price expensive, but you will more than likely have to get the puppy shipped in from Europe. Thus, not making for the cheapest dog to add to your family.

So, before you begin looking for Northern Inuits dogs for sale, you should know that they are not readily available in every region of the world, so they can become expensive to purchase.

The other part is that they are a highly desirable dog, so it is not uncommon to be forced to place your name on a waiting list. So, in the end, just make sure you know what you are getting, and you will have the most loyal companion ever!

Northern Inuit Dog Rescues

If you have been searching consistently for a Northern Inuit Dog but have had no luck, then you should definitely consider adopting a dog from a rescue. You can even choose to foster home a dog for a while too.

It can be quite hard to find a specific rescue for this breed, but there are however multiple rescues for a variety of wolf lookalike dogs.

One rescue I was able to find is the Northern Inuit Society Rescue, where you can contact them and see what they have available. I hope this helps you have a lot of options when looking for this breed of dog.

Overall

The Northern Inuit dog breeders above are some of the best options for obtaining Northern Inuit puppies for sale. Any of the breeders above can help you, and I hope you check them out. Also, let me know in the comments below if you have your own Northern Inuit.

  1. Hello,
I have done my research on the breed and am definitely fitting to take one in. My only question is how much do they roughly cost and how much would they cost to ship to the United States (Boston)?

    Cheers,

  2. Hello,

I have read the information on the Northern Inuit Dog breed and would definitely consider having such a beautiful dog. I used to have a German Shepherd for 10 years, he passed away approximately 7 years ago and am familiar to owning a larger breed dog. I was just wondering besides the US and United Kingdom, would there be a breeder in Canada I could purchase this dog from and how much would it cost?

    Thank you,

    Kind Regards,
