Eventually, the Pug breed made its way around the world and got to the United States. Many people are captivated by the squished in face look of this adorable small breed dog.
The American Kennel Club first recognized the Pug breed into its club in 1885! The American Kennel Club places this breed in the toy category.
The Pug can weigh anywhere from 15-2- pounds in weight and stands around 10-14 inches high. The Pug should live between thirteen and fifteen years.
Today, I will be helping you find Pug puppies for sale. It can be hard to find a reputable breeder, so I am here to help!
How much are Pug Puppies for Sale?
A purebred Pug puppy can actually cost a lot of money. Some breeders have championship bloodline puppies that will cost an exuberant amount of money.
Most breeders have a range that they typically charge for a Pug puppy. On a lower cheaper end, you can get a pug puppy for around $850-$1,000. Then there are some breeders that charge a whole lot more, from $1,000-$5,000.
This will again depend on the linage and bloodline of the Pug and if it comes with registration papers or show quality papers.
Remember that if this is too expensive for you, you can always look into finding a Pug rescue. Rescues typically have older dogs, and they will rarely get a puppy.
Where Can I Find a Reputable Pug Breeder?
The easiest way to get your hand on a Pug will be to look for a breeder specializing in breeding this breed. Here you will find a few reputable Pug breeders:
Sweetie Pie Pugs
This sweet family in North Carolina lives on a sixteen-acre farm where they raise and sell Pug Puppies. All of her Pugs get plenty of socialization as well as love from every member of her family.
All of her puppies get registered with the American Kennel Club. Each puppy is also tested for any genetic defect and PK deficiency.
Puppies go home to you after eight weeks of age with a bag of puppy food and a toy that has the smell of their puppy brothers and sisters on it.
They have litters quite often and update their site to let people know when their dogs are expecting. To get on their Pug puppy waiting list, you will need to contact them here: https://www.sweetiepiepugs.com/
House of Briggs Pugs
The House of Briggs Pugs is run by Barbara Briggs, who is a widow that has been breeding the Pug breed for over six years. All of her Pugs are registered with the American Kennel Club.
All of the puppies are raised right inside her home, and they are given so much love before going to their new families.
Before you get a puppy, it will already have its first round of vaccinations, de-worming, and of course, a puppy kit with a few different supplies to get you started.
If you are interested in one of her Pug puppies, you will need to contact Barbara and also fill out a puppy application.

Locate a Pug Rescue
Rescuing a dog is a great option when you can’t afford a puppy from a breeder. There are many dogs who are in rescues that need a good home to go to.
One pug rescue I was able to find is the Mid Atlantic Pug Rescue, they have a variety of different colored pups in a variety of different states that are looking for a home.
Their goal is to find loving homes for their rescues to live in. When you get a dog from a rescue it will most likely be an older dog that may have some sort of health condition.
I have also found a list of a bunch of different rescues for Pugs listed for each state. To find the closest rescue to you you can check this link out: https://www.pugpartners.com/resources/other-national-rescue-groups
